UNISSON

Sound & Light Installation
by LNLO [helen eastwood & laurent brun]

Architectural Lighting : Daniel Knipper
Music : Guillaume De Maria

Each stone of the Cathedral’s façade is unique in its size, shape and texture. Yet, each one of them plays a vital role in the construction and cohesion of the Whole. The building as One, a living entity, composed of a multiplicity of connected elements. Unisson plays with this idea, starting from the architecture and its design, proposing different compositions, and slowly building up towards new fragmentations, imaginary and fanciful, various possible combinations of a new reality. Focusing on both singularity and plurality, Unisson celebrates the strength of collective energy. Stones and fragments, like so many individualities, seek to connect and unite their shapes, their colors, their movements, just as it is essential for us beings to unify our thoughts, our voices and our actions in order to build together a greater, richer, more joyful reality.

Unisson is also a work of research for perfect synchronization of sound & image, since each note, rhythm, instrument causes a predefined visual effect on the façade. Music & images are intimately inter-connected, composed in unison !…
