LUEURS with Stefane Perraud

Every day in the world, 355 000 children are born and 145,990 people die. Yet this daily flow is imperceptible to human eyes. Lueurs is a symbolic representation of this cycle of life, a poetic reflection and meditation on life and death. 18 000 LEDs are programmed using an algorithm based on statistics of births and deaths worldwide : one LED alights for every birth, one LED turns off for every death. In real time, the small lights appear and disappear, moving, winding like a snake, paying a tribute to the strength and beauty of existence.
